Former club kid, DJ & club host (for 'Spiders' nightclub at The Tube, now 'The Ghetto') in the mid 90's, then known as Legion, was also in part responsible for the 'reclaim The Dev' when the alternative pub veue 'The Devonshire Arms' in Camden was taken over fto make a trendy wine bar. As soon as the business failed, 3 DJs stepped in and set up shop, playing industrial, goth, alternative rock and electro. For two years, Legion held the post there solo, until he left for New York for 4 months to pursue music after falling out of favour with his housemate, a psychotic prostitute who also had terrorised his other housemate, Karl Barat (The Libertines). Legion found the scene too insular to progress, though he found a willing colaborator in Sebastien Money (ex-Prick & former band mate of Little Jimmy Urine), time was up in NY & the return home wielded new changes. Upon return, Legion kept a low profile, gathering up ideas & learning to make music on the computer. He moved to a housing co-operative in east london, the previous residence for The Shamen & KLF. Soon after, SeqT became 'BEiNG' & produced music for a film & TV library label, which he continues to do. After recording a cover of Janet Jackson's 'What Have You Done For Me Lately' ('Wotavudun4mel8ly') under the name 'Problem Being', he decided to get on the club circuit performing PA's, which proved highly successful and gained some publicity and genertated good reviews. During 2006, he gathered within a few weeks musicians to form his band, The Problem Being. Within a few months they were pulling large crowds to some of London's top venues, including Push, Madame Jo Jo's & The Underworld in Camden, supporting such acts as Client & Sheep On Drugs. Set to self-release their first single, 'Electro Is Dead', in 2007, things seem to be moving fast & interesting developments within the scene and new schemes involving multimedia and online TV, The Problem Being are involved in something that could potentially be groundbreaking... |
