_____________________________

A social housing advocate, THAT Board member and friend, Wayne Casselman, recently passed away.  As his obituary below notes, Wayne was actively involved in his community.  One portion of his involvement was his Board position with THAT.  The Toronto Housing Association of Tenants extends its condolences to Wayne's family and friends.
Please read on for information on the Memorial Service:

CASSELMAN, Douglas ''Wayne''

At approximately 6:30 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2006 at Toronto East General Hospital, passed peacefully after an evening surrounded by his loving family.

He had far out-lived medical expectations in his cheerful and courageous 9 year battle with lung cancer.

He will be sadly missed by his many friends in Scarborough and in the Beaches where he spent most of his life and by his family and friends at his family estate property in Muskoka.

Wayne leaves his wife and friend Barbara, daughter Debra and her family, sons Kenneth and David and their families, plus brothers Jack and George and their families.

Wayne's many accomplishments throughout his life will be treasured memories for his family and friends, especially his humour and bright attitude on living and on life.

His contributions are many, from coaching and counselling in his younger years, to arranging club gatherings for sports and entertainment, to being an active representative in his community up to the final few days of his life.

A Memorial Service will be held at the ''SCARBOROUGH CHAPEL'' of McDougall & Brown, 2900 Kingston Road (east of St. Clair Ave. E.) on Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
