Dear Mike,
It is just as well that you did not attend the protest rally American Atheists held at Falcon Field yesterday. We got no media recognition and precious little recognition from anyone else. We were a small contingent of Atheists protesting the Bush plan to divert tax money to religious groups surrounded by a sea of Democrats with other grievances, real and imaginary. I was disappointed that Bart and Monty didn't find someplace to protest that was separate from them. I'm sure most of those passing by thought we were part of the Democratic Party.
Your comrades were not entirely absent. Someone shouted "Harry Browne!" from a passing pickup truck. Most of those present simply shrugged and asked, "Who's he?"
The Putz stopped by just as we were disbanding and asked, "How are you doing, comrade? Where's your crazy little friend?"
I said, "I don't have any crazy little friends."
He said, "I mean Mike Ross."
I said, "You should know where to reach him."
Bart, Monty, Maricella, and I went to Anzio's Landing for a late luncheon afterward. The food was good, so that was the only high point of the demonstration. I'm glad the Putz didn't see fit to join us.
Yours,
Kevin
