    Worked as a DASD(Direct Access Storage Device)Manager. Responsible for CA Vantage Evaluation & Implementation. Major Duties: Split Production data into 2 storage groups via ACS rules, DFSHSM Implementation, resizing of production conversion datasets, V2X DASD Migrations, Consolidated Restores for Disaster Recovery, Responsible for DASD Layout for Disaster Recovery - calculated how much DASD would be required for Disaster Recovery based upon growth during the year. Responsible for placing the data upon certain sub-systems, and re-sizing of datasets.

    As my first position in the software industry, my primary task was initially the development of programs to enable attorneys to electronically bill their clients (Collection Partner). These programs also allowed attorneys to print remittances and billing hour receipts. As my experience in the field grew, I began to assume duties in more complicated areas, such as software requests from our clients and the day to day testing of all programs.I also dealt first hand with users in assisting them with using the software.


    SKILLS AND OTHER NOTABLE EXPERIENCE

    • COMPUTER LANGUAGES. Professionally fluent in the computer languages 'C', Microsoft Visual Basic 3.0/5.0/6.0, Cobol, capable of developing Internet-based applications in both VB and 'C'. I have academic exposure to Pascal, Fortran, Cobol, with at least 1-2 semesters of classes at the University of Alabama in each of these languages.

    • DATABASE / SQL / DB2. Broad knowledge of relational databases, including design theory and implementation. I have utilized DB2 as integral parts of information-management applications, and have worked extensively in Structure Query Language (SQL), having developed stored procedures and triggers as well as traditional database queries.

    • HTML / WEB PAGES. Fluent in HTML. I designed and developed my personal web page in order to inform people about myself and my family.

    • JAVA/CGI SCRIPTS. I am in the process of learning Java, and already have a working knowledge of JavaScript. I also have limited experience in the development of CGI Scripts.

    • OPERATING SYSTEMS. Expert in MVS, Unix (System V, BSD, SCO, and Linux), MS-DOS, Microsoft Windows, and Windows 95; significant exposure to Windows NT.

    • LANGUAGES. Learning Spanish (40%), English (native language).


    SKILLS IN DEVELOPMENT

    • CERTIFICATIONS. I am in the process of becomming a CNE (certified Novel engineer. As soon as I have completed this course, I plan to work on becomming a MCSE.

    • JAVA. I am in the process of learning Java. I already have a working knowledge of JavaScript.
