| During a pelvic exam the examiner will visually inspect and palpate the total vulvar region including labia majora, labia minora, clitoris, clitoral hood, and urethral opening (not visible in this photos). In this photo, the labia majora are spread apart as the practicioner uses two fingers to begin the examination. This part of the exam precedes the insertion of the speculum, the pap smear and the bimanual. |
