Images from MTV's Spider-Man:
(November 8th)
Here's a couple of images from the upcoming Spider-Man animated series, set to air on MTV in early 2003. The images were taken from a brief preview included on the VHS release of Spider-Man, the movie.

Featured are Spider-Man and Peter Parker (to be performed by Neil Patrick Harris), Mary Jane (Lisa Loeb), and Harry Osborn (Ian Ziering). Curiously, Harry Osborn has blonde hair in the preview.

Spidey News Recap:
(September 18th)
Jeez, an awful lot has happened while I've been away (as school and a job will often do). Just to recap for all you amazing Spidey fans out there, here's what's happened:

Spider-Man the movie broke all sorts of records, including the box office gross for a non-holiday weekend gross (in the neighbourhood of 115 million dollars). After staying in the top ten for the next few months, Spidey left theaters with a gross of over 400 million dollars, enough to start buzz on the sequel, which won't even hit theaters until 2004. Stars Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst, two of Hollywood's hardest working young stars achieved "over-night" fame with this, and had their faces plastered on everything from Time Magazine to Tiger Beat.

Free Comic Book Day brought all sorts of news readers in to comic stores on May 4th, as exclusive copies of Ultimate Spider-Man #1, Justice League #1, Tomb Raider #1/2 and a Special Star Wars issue were given away to fans and visitors. Other special issues like the 13 cent issue of Gen 13, and the nine cent Fantastic Four #60, have helped to spread the word, and share the wealth.

Writer/Director Kevin Smith has his sights set on Spidey. In addition to his mini-series Spider-Man and the Black Cat, Smith will take over the writing chores on the Amazing Spider-Man early next year. The art team will be his SM/BC conspirators, Terry and Rachel Dodson. The current team of J. Michael Straczynski, John Romita jr. and Scott Hanna will move onto an all-new title to be launched when Smith and company take over Amazing. In addition to the Amazing Spidey turn-around, the Peter Parker: Spider-Man creative team of Paul Jenkins, Humberto Ramos and Wayne Faucher will move onto an all-new title when PP:SM bows early next year.
Rumor has it the new title will be a relaunch of Spectacular Spider-Man, the Spidey title that ran from 1975 through 1998.

Now we're all up to date!

Toby on his own super powers: "Our greatest power is the power of what we do. Like Peter, our actions have consequences. What do we do to enrich our lives and the lives of those around us? I try to make the estimable choice, but I struggle with that daily."
