Meditation Help Page

The first thing we must do is find the position in which we will meditate.  This can be done in a few different positions which I will describe below:

1. Sitting in the Lotus Position (which is also known as Indian Style)
and can be done these ways: (which is ever comfortable for you)
A. On the floor
B. On your bed
C. In a chair

When picking a position it is important for you to be as comfortable as possible; otherwise you may not obtain proper connection with your body, mind and spirit.  If this position bothers you try a differnet one.
There is no one right way to meditate it is up to the person who is meditating to find their most comfortable position to do this.

2. Position is just either sitting straight up in a chair or on the edge of a bed with legs hanging over and feet touching the floor.

3. Position is just sitting up in bed or just lying down(which you can prop yourself up if needed) with your legs sticking straight out on the bed.

4. Position you can sit in a chair with one leg tucked under you if it is a comfortable position for you.

I myself meditate in many of these position at various times.  Many things come in to factor when finding the proper position for meditating.

Second thing I will discuss is hand positions when meditating.  Your hands can be in a number of positions when meditating.  Again it depends on the person and which is comfortable for them.  I can not stress enough that comfort does play a major role in proper meditation.

Hand positions:

1. Placing hands by just laying them on your knees face down.

2. Placing hands palms up on your knees, and you can also if comfortable for
you touch your thumb and middle finger together while meditating.

3. Placing your hands in a prayer position and holding them about mid  chest height.  In this position we can also use it to teaching ourselves in  opening our third eye (The Heavenly Eye) which is located in the center  of our foreheads.  I will discuss more on opening third eye up more later.

4. Placing one hand in the prayer position with the other hand palm up
under it or palm up just laying in your lap.
