The Third Eye or The Heavenly Eye

The "Third Eye" or "Heavenly Eye" is the hidden eye in the middle of our forehead.  Some practioners believe the when Christ said "If thine eye be single, thy whole body will be filled with light" he was indirectly refering to this our "Third Eye" or "Heavenly Eye".

According to escoteric literature, this eye will only awaken at a certain level of spiritual purity and awareness.  Qi Gong practioners understand this message as an indirect reference which pertains to the opening of certain channels in the body.  As the "Heavenly Eye" awakens, it induces further biochemical reaction in the body which result in a strengthened aura.  This is vey often visible to people with heightened senses.  Qi Gong practioners also believe that the aura and glow this affects us is what some people call the light, or halo, often reported surrrounding saints and holy people.  Artists for example, often depict saints with such a halo.  This is not an imagined attribute but one that is very real.

Qi Gong is an ancient technique that Shao-lins and others have learned to use for healing of them selves and others.  They have also found out in this practice that the light that we emit; which they call "The Buddhist Light", acts as a protective force or guards against illness.
