...'It might just be the greatest motion picture ever made'
Ok, so what i love about this movie, is, well, almost every aspect of it, on all levels - most of all was becuase it was so honest and genuine, distilled its just a movie about friendship.

Its a tribute to real like Wayne and Garth, and never sinks into mocking the hard rock and metal communtity (unlike such movies as Bill & Ted)...'i was making a comment on the socialogy of american pop culture in the year 1990'. A snapshot if you will, of two genuiunly likable and affable guys having as much fun as they can, without the need for intoxication or indulgance- Wayne's World is very much a 90s movie.
Wayne and Garth are what makes this movie so heartfelt and honest- they aren't cool, but they want to be cool within their ...''own little world, their neighbourhood'', Garth is the quintessential geek, the insecurity, the reliance on his one best friend, and Wayne with his constant search for real happiness.
The best scenes in the movie are when Wayne and Garth are just hanging out and talking at Mikita's, at the airport, or  playing Hockey in the street outside their house.

They just wanna have fun in life - they're 11 year olds trapped in the body 19 year olds  - ...'i feel like i'm in a John Hughes, rites of passage movie' as Wayne states in the sequal - they're at a point in life where  they need to do something, ...'they just have fun in live and maybe oneday fall in love'
they don't want any responsibilty, and if anything gets too hard - they just revert into pure, innnocent childlike disposition (Wayne:'I'm sorry for what i did, Buds?'Garth:'Buds').

Visually this movie was brilliant, (in the same way John Hughes did with Shermer, Illinois), the cast and crew went out of their way to make Aurora, Illinois the epitome of utopian suburban life - and we thank you for it, theres this great laid back normality to the film- Wayne's basement, Garth's room is just perfect. Then there's the great aspirational places, like Benjamin's Apartment, the expensive TV studio, Vanderhoff's office, and who would'nt want to walk into a shop like Cassell's Music? Or be regulars at Stan Mikita's Donuts? Aurora, does indeed, Rock.

Released in 92 the movie was unfairly typed as a funny but moronic teen comedy, as the movie's true genius lies in the fact that it worked on so many differant levels...

Ofcourse, it's one of the funniest movies of all time, if you just keep your eye on either Mike or Dana, i garuantee you will not stop smiling throughout. It was written by Mike, based on himself growing up in Canada, and Bonnie and Terry Turner (who are also responsible for 3rd Rock & That 70s Show) - which was where the real heart, the honesty of this movie came from ...'these guys aren't cool, we just wanna show that uncool guys can win, becuase people who think they're cool, are not cool'. The final incredient is director Penelope Spheeris, the woman who turned down 'This Is Spinal Tap' and the 'The Simpsons' and ofcourse made the highly acclaimed music  documentary series 'The Decline Of Western Civilisation' - she brought the reality to the movie, 'the grounding' as she says.
