An Alexander/Ilya Salkind Production

Before Superman there was Superboy. On Television. ...Well, sort of. In October of 1988, the Superman movie producers Alexander and Ilya Salkind launched 'SUPERBOY: The TV Series' on International Television, which would become a top 10 syndicated hit. For the first time, viewers around the world would experience the story of Superman when he was just a boy. Actually, in this case, a 19 year old college student at Shuster University, Florida (in the sunny town of Siegelville). The show would be distributed by Viacom Enterprises and air for 4 seasons (note that the series title was changed to 'The Adventures of Superboy' for season 3 and 4), to accumulate 100 original episodes of adventure. By the 3rd and 4th seasons, a definite 'Film Noir' (dark and gothic) style had developed and the FX/Production work closely matched, if not rivaled the FX/Production work seen in the Salkind produced 'Superman' pictures.
