Carson & Britney Spears will host Mardi Gras!!! Going where, well, lots of people have gone before, MTV will plunge into the New Orleans bacchanalia that is Mardi Gras this year. The network plans Spring Break-style festivities built around New Orleans' tradition-steeped celebration, in which folks pack as much sin as possible into the day before the beginning of Lent. Carson Daly and Louisiana native Britney Spears will serve as hosts of the three-hour special, which will air at 1 p.m. ET Saturday, Feb. 16, four days after Mardi Gras. MTV will set up a stage in the city's Jackson Square, where the likes of No Doubt, Blink-182 and Mystikal will perform and willing men and women will get drag makeovers, among other events. Morning-after confessions and an "Undercover" segment on a group of students traveling to the festivities for the first time will also be part of the special.

Carson's new NBC talk show..."Last Call with Carson Daly" is going to start taping on Thursday December 20th at 30 Rockerfeller Plaza in NYC. It will be airing at 1:35AM weeknights following "Late Night with Conan O'Brien".

Ticket reservations are accepted in advance only by calling the NBC ticket office at (212) 664-3056. Advance reservations are limited to four tickets per group.

For stand-by tickets: Arrive no later than 9:00AM on the morning of the taping, under the "NBC Studios" marquee at the 49th street entrance of 30 Rockefeller Plaza. Tickets are limited to one per person. No one under the age of 16 will be admitted. Stand-by tickets do not guarantee admission.

You must be at least 16 yrs. old and bring photo I.D., they are also asking that you limit the amount of bags and electronic devices you bring with you for security reasons.

The show will tape on Thursday, December 20th at 7:00PM and 9:00PM, Friday, December 21st at 7:00PM, Thursday, December 27th at 7:00pm and 9:00PM, and Friday, December 28th and 7:00PM. More info

Did anyone else see Carson's new tv commercial for "Last Call"? It was on twice during Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien's shows. In the commercial he's walking by the elevator at NBC and he says, "People think...coming from MTV...I'm going to change the vibe here at NBC...that's NOT going to happen" and then the elevator doors open up and No Doubt is performing in the elevator...lol He looks really cute on it. His first show is going to air on January 7th.

When Carson was in Ireland, he taped his whole trip, and is in the process of editing it to show it sometime on TRL hopefully
