The new government initiative, Excellence in Cities, includes provision for students who are academically able or have
talent in Music, Sport, Art and Drama. 
Within the South Tyneside partnership of schools, four comprehensives are working together as a cluster. St Wilfrid's, Brinkburn, Mortimer and Harton schools collaborate and co-operate to offer pupils a range of experiences to enrich and enhance their learning.
