Lacrosstine: What do you do to stop online abuse and harassment?
Agent Harrell: Do you have a user that is harassing you
Lacrosstine: Well, no, not at the moment, but I do at times. I'm just really curious as to what you do.
Agent Harrell: I take the proper actions using programs, resources, and other items to stop the abuse of a user
Lacrosstine: I see. Is it against the law to "abuse" someone over the IM? Because, in all honesty, wouldn't it be the abusee letting it happen? All they'd have to do was put the person on block. What do all the programs, resources, etc do? Boot the person off, or something?
Agent Harrell: Blocking has not even a stopper now a days with hackers
Agent Harrell: is*
Agent Harrell: some one that knows a little bit of programming can unblock themselves
Agent Harrell: immediately
Lacrosstine: ohh, so you focus on hackers? But if you used these resources to "stop" the abusers, wouldn't you be hacking also?
Agent Harrell: no
Agent Harrell: there are special guidlines that the Judicial Council gives us
Agent Harrell: to ensure safety
Lacrosstine: But how else do you make them unable to "abuse" someone, besides disabling their program/internet.
Agent Harrell: put a stopper on their AIM IM for certain people
Agent Harrell: add a special blacklist
Agent Harrell: to their AIM
Agent Harrell: so in a way we are hacking
Lacrosstine: Are you an "official" IM-abuse regulator? Or do you do this just as like... something to do?
Agent Harrell: official
Lacrosstine: I see. (I think). This is interesting, i've never known about something like this before. You're official? So who's payroll are you on? Is it a government run thing? Or is it a company that does this? How do you profit from it?
Agent Harrell: Computer Associates
Agent Harrell: May I ask your name
Lacrosstine: Christine
Agent Harrell: Be Right Back Christine
Lacrosstine: alright
Agent Harrell: I have some business to take care of
Lacrosstine: Ok. lol. You get those AIM-abusers.
Lacrosstine: But isn't it illegal what you're doing? Manipulating data on another persons computer without their consent is a very serious crime. Surely there can't be a company that is making profits by doing just that. I've never heard of any kind of "special guidelines" from a Judicial Council... I think it'd be almost impossible for them to set the guidelines, because then you have the issue of where is the line drawn on hacking and "regulating".
Agent Harrell: we don't manipulate data
Lacrosstine: But you add data.
Agent Harrell: we just find their account in the AIM Database and add restrictions
Agent Harrell: as simple as that
Agent Harrell: it is on AIM;s server, with AIM's permission
Agent Harrell: case closed
Agent Harrell: I will let the Board of Appeals for the Internet Review Commitee get in contact with you
Agent Harrell: about any concers
Agent Harrell: i am of in 10 minutes adn I have to start shutting down
Lacrosstine: There is no AIM database. If there were it'd be too large to even comprehend. AIM doesn't control people's individual programs.
Lacrosstine: I think you're a fraud.
Agent Harrell: well, we will let that be your little secret
Agent Harrell: think what you want
Lacrosstine: http://www.oocities.org/thegop23/main.ht ml
Agent Harrell: I have to go and I will have the Board of Appeals get in contact with you
Lacrosstine: And why would a company waste their money and time doing this. All someone has to do is make up a new name with a new email address. It's as simple as that. Those people right there have over a hundred AIM names.... you'd never be able to stop them all.
Agent Harrell: IP Addresses ever heard of a DNS Transfer
Agent Harrell: do you have an email address
Lacrosstine: If the government is paying for this, it is a huge huge waste of American tax dollars. It has to be some kind of non-profit company, but where could they possibly get the money to keep you on a payroll?
Agent Harrell: i will send our ORGANIZATION's not COMPANY info
Lacrosstine: I know of no one who would willingly donate money to a fund such as this. AIM is a program used mostly by high school/college students. It's an OPTIONAL program. You do not need AIM, so why would someone donate money just to "irradicate" the abusers screen names, when all they have to do is make up a new one?
Lacrosstine: Alright. You do that. Just send the email to TheGOP23@aol.com
Agent Harrell: thank you for your debate and the Board of appeals will contact you
Agent Harrell: bye for now
Lacrosstine: There was no debate, you left all of my questions open ended. You send me that company info so I can rally against the use of money for a bullshit cause such as this. That money could be feeding starving kids somewhere, shit, tearing it up and throwing it into the water would be more beneficial than what you are doing. Do you really spend your time "blacklisting" IM users? That is terribly sad.
Agent Harrell: NO MONEY INVOLVED WE ARE VOLLUNTEERS
Agent Harrell: GET THE PICTURE
Lacrosstine: I asked who's payroll you were on, and you said Computer Associates.
Agent Harrell: no that is the name of our org.
Agent Harrell: we are vollunteers
Agent Harrell: if we got payed for it it would be illegal
Agent Harrell: you should now that
Lacrosstine: You do it for FREE??? That's almost worse. Why waste your time? All someone has to do is make up a new name.... easy as that.
Agent Harrell: We have ways
Lacrosstine: I did know that, and that's why I said you were a fraud. No company in their right mind would pay people to hack.
Agent Harrell: right again, let me send that info, good bye for now
Lacrosstine: You have no ways. You are a fraud. Is this your idea of how to get chicks? Act like Mr Agent Orange and they come flocking. You might as well add 007 after your screen name.
