Although some may disagree, I think of myself as a simple person that enjoys simplicity in life. ( except when I create something I can be quite obsessive)
I am known as umpy, umpymama and umpygrammy) and sometimes use the pen names of Melly or Melanie.
I began making umpyland pages in early 1999 and have not stopped building yet. I started recently rebuilding in geo-cities and am having lots of fun doing so.
I am 50 hum hum years of age and retired/disabled with all grown children, which gives me more time than a lot of you that work and/or fight family for the use of the PC.

I am a mother of three, Dawn Marie, Eric, and Travis, all intelligent, talented and beautiful children, the grandmother of two very intelligent, talented and beautiful grandaughters, Amber and Tia, as well as two very precious (recently adopted) grandsons, Gavin and Talin Seth. My son Travis, daughter Dawn and both grandaughters are in show business. I have a wonderful son-in-law, Robby, and two precious daughter-in-laws, Tabby and Mary Beth.
I have two dogs, Maggie and Kiya-Odie, three cats, Isis, Spyder,and King Tux, and two young males, a siamese, Jazz, and a solid gray, Blues Boy.

A few years have made a diff, but this was me
when I started building. Once an umpy, always an umpymama. I can usually be found at my desk.
My kids and grandkids and watching their talents..
Meat and potatoes with gravy,hamburgers and fries, orange juice, cheesecake, eating out, buffets.
Live theatre, especially musical, magic, or comedy shows. Thunderstorms and lightning,creeks, rivers,lakes, oceans.
Cats, horses, dolphins. big cats, gorillas, elephants.
Classic 40-50's music,videos,cars and 50's websites.
e-mail from my family, sing-a-long websites,
Autumn and spring, fireplace crackling in the winter, Christmas music and decorations, building webpages.
Relaxing outdoors near water and trees, drawing, writing, listening to music, playing with my keyboard (piano).

(non-gory) and old fashioned ghost stories, romantic or family comedies, science and nature channels..
Courteous gentlemen. considerate people, happy laughing people, teenagers.

people, people that use and abuse, (especially the
helpless and innocent) narcissistic people, drop-in
visitors (unless they have an open invitation), pushy
salesmen,People that want to change your personal
spiritual beliefs. I am uncomfortable being around people with nasty hygiene, (smells set off my emotional balance)
Not too crazy about most country music, although I do like
certain artists or songs. Hot weather, Hot clothing. hate
waiting for appointments. (I have little patience)
Suffering, illness ,pain, disabilities. ( don't we all?)
Uncaring useless doctors that run loads of tests because the
tell you that you may have a serious oondition, then take all
of your money and time and your condition is not improved
( is that right?) I also get frustrated with lying, deceiving
people, people that get you riled and then turn it around to
look like you are the instigator, Crocodiles, alligators, most
bugs (although I admire spiders and their beautiful webs.)
Seafood, (allergic) , macaroni and cheese, mushrooms, sardines, anchovies, spinach.
Men that expect their woman to do all cooking and clean
up, all laundry and chores. AND women that expect the
MEN to do ALL of the above after working all day!
