OT Girls We may love our OT guys, but these OT girls could probably kick their asses! We don't like them in *quite* the same way as the guys, but these girls are still some of our favorite people! Miranda Otto Miranda Otto has become internationally known as the White Lady of Rohan, Eowyn, in The Lord of the Rings. Eowyn is arguably Tolkien's strongest female character, and Miranda plays the Shieldmaiden to perfection. Miranda is the daughter of stage actor Barry Otto, and has done a lot of acting work in ther native Australia. She has also had roles in Hollywood movies such as The Thin Red Line and What Lies Beneath. We love Miranda because...well, because Eowyn kicks some major tail! She did an excellent job portraying our favorite Shieldmaiden. She got to dress like a princess yet fight like a man, all while falling in love with both Viggo and David W. What a lucky girl! Admired Miranda Cate Blanchett Known most recently as the Elf queen Galadriel in The Lord of the Rings, Cate Blanchett was born in Australia and has done a lot of theatre there. Her first film role was in Paradise Road, and she had the title role in the movie Elizabeth and was nominated for an Oscar for the same. From there, Cate has been in movies such as The Shipping News and Charlotte Gray. Cate's husband is screen writer Andrew Upton, and they have a son Dashiell John. She was perfect as the coolly beautiful Galadriel, and earns our undying respect for it! She's got amazing talent which shows like heck. Plus, she's proof that blondes can have more fun :) Cate Blanchett Online Liv Tyler Liv Tyler is the daughter of Aerosmith's Steven Tyler, and the sister of Mia Tyler, a plus size model. Her career started out in modelling, but her first acting experience was in the Aerosmith music video for the song Crazy. Liv's first movie role was in Silent Fall. Other movie roles include Empire Records, Stealing Beauty, Armegeddon, That Thing You Do!, and The Lord of the Rings, in which she plays the Elf lady, Arwen. Congrats are due to Liv, as she is now married to Spacehog singer Royston Langdon. Best wishes! Lovely Liv Tyler Ginny Weasley/Bonnie Wright (with an appearance by Susie) Move over, Hermione, she's *my* favorite Potter girl. She's got that Gryffindor bravery combined with that Weasley red hair and a penchant for mischief. She may look sweet and innocent, but this girl's been breaking into broom sheds since she was six and can catch a snitch almost as well as the famed Mr. Potter himself. She's a powerhouse in disguise, this one. She held her own in the Department of Mysteries, and I see her becoming a major part of the last two books. Call me a shipper, but I also would be happy as heck if she ended up with Harry. She's got the nerve to stop his ridiculous brooding and set him right. In the movies, Ginny is played by Bonnie Wright, who is so cuuuuuute! She hasn't been in much besides Harry Potter, but she is perfect for bringing Ginny to life onscreen. Hurrah for both of them! The Bonnie Wright Fanlisting Amanda Tapping (again by Susie) Amanda Tapping plays Major Samantha Carter, pHD in the super-fun show (no matter what Sarah thinks) Stargate: SG-1. She is great at holding her own in a mostly male cast as the astrophysicist extraodinaire. As great as Daniel is with archaeology, Sam is with science. Sam is also tough as Jack's skull; she flew over 100 hours in enemy airspace in the gulf war and was the temporary host to the Tok'ra Jolinar. Amanda actually researches all the scientific mumbo-jumbo she spits out in every episode so that her character doesn't have that Sigourney-Weaver-in-Galaxy-Quest kind of feel. Ms. Tapping was born in England but was raised in Toronto (see, Sarah, she's Canadian!) She has guest-starred in shows like Due South and The Outer Limits, and has appeared in the movies Rent A Kid and Booty Call, among others. At any rate, she's simply wunderbar!
