Receives two game suspension About half way through the 3rd period of the New York Islanders, Ottawa Senators game, winger Martin Havlat kicked Eric Cairns in front of the Islanders' net. No penalty was given on the play, but the NHL went under review and decided a two game suspension would be assessed. Sportsnet.ca released the following: Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, Havlat forfeits salary based on the number of days in a season (180). He will forfeit $16,666.66 Havlat will miss games against both the Washington Capitals and Tampa Bay Lightning. |
