The Human Element was not your stereotypical Rock Band. The band metamorphosed from a solo CD project by multi-instrumentalist/songwriter Rick Neal. Rick was trying making that CD that he always wanted to make but never had the opportunity because involvement with other bands (Science Forgave Us, Vudu Kings, Big As Cleveland). Rick was convinced that with the help from other musicians their songs would receive the national attention they deserved. And to do that, he would needed the right voice and the right band.

So the search began for the perfect voice. Months went by auditioning and auditioning. Rick went through dozens of vocalist. Some good, some great, yet none of them were experienced nor talented enough to make the grade. Rick had all but given up on the search when Wah-La... enter vocalist/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist extraordinaire Warren Dunlevy (Twilight Station, StratusFear, Type, 12:33, Section 8, 3 BarNone, and Drama 360). Rick answered his ad for a band project. As soon as Rick heard Warren sing the search was over. The missing element had been found! Never before had Rick ever heard a voice as strong, powerful, and so versatile. Warren's creative input and vocal talents would finally breathe life into what seemed an impossible dream, thus creating the Human Element.

Unfortunately, Warren Dunlevy left the band to move on to bigger and better things but not before introducing the project to a life-long friend and Bassist - Chad Dance (Black Widow, StratusFear, 12:33, Drama 360) who continued with the band until finally realizing he was destined for much greater things.

The Human Element is still fighting forward and with the addition of an amazing new female vocalist, bass player and drummer, their outlook is VERY good. You can catch them playing in select venues through out the Richmond area.
