Golf Getaway - Jean and Gil will organize a great golf tour for you at rates you won't believe. How does $99 Cdn (double occupancy) sound for accommodation including a huge breakfast and two plus 18-hole green fees at St. Walburg, Loon Lake or Mervin? No, the $99 weekdays (including taxes) is not an Internet mistake but the actual price. The weekend rate is $109 all-inclusive and may be the best value in all of Saskatchewan. All three courses have irrigated fairways and fantastic greens. If you are a golfer, don't miss these packages. Where can you find quality accommodation, two great breakfasts, plus two rounds of golf for those prices? Book early! P.S. Jean and Gil own a power cart. |

Golf Lessons - While you are visiting, why not take a golf lesson? Doug Nicholls, a local resident who taught golf for over 20 years in Edmonton, would be pleased to help you improve your game. If you are an intermediate, he will work with you on swing refinement and lowering your score. If you are just starting the game, you won't believe the results after even one session. Private or group lessons (along with a few corny jokes) are available at reasonable rates. Add a lesson to your golf getaway while staying at the Hummingbird Haven. Contact Jean or Gil or email Doug directly at doug.rob.brightsand@sk.sympatico.ca. |
The Wild Blueberry Festival (last Saturday in August) - In August 2000, over 4000 people visited St. Walburg to attend the Blueberry Festival. This event is quickly becoming one of the "can't miss" events in the North-West. You name the activity, food or craft, and you are likely to find it at the Blueberry Festival. A blueberry pancake breakfast, hot air balloon rides, an antique car show, cases of wild blueberries, custom furniture, unique Christmas decorations, pottery and artwork by famous local artists, hand-made clothing, music galore, and entertainment for all ages are just some of the reasons to attend the Festival. The Hummingbird Haven is a one-block walk from all the excitement. If you haven't attended the Blueberry Festival, you are missing one great Saskatchewan event. At the 2000 Festival there were 97 tables plus all the activities. Look for an even bigger event in the summer of 2001! |

You will not believe what the people of Frenchman Butte have acquired for this museum! Located just a short distance from trenches that still exist from the Northwest Rebellions, the Museum boasts an actual jacket of Louis Riel. There are so many items to describe it is impossible to even start. The local residents also operate a teahouse in a beautiful log home beside the museum. They volunteer their time and bake for your enjoyment. Don't miss the Frenchman Butte Museum and trenches during your stay at the Hummingbird Haven! The place is incredible! |
