I Wasn't There

I wasn't there when God came out of the night,
and gave the command for dark to be light.

I wasn't there when He made Heaven and Earth,
when His sun, moon, and stars, all gave birth.

I wasn't there when he split land and sea,
and said,
" I will make man in the image of Me."

I wasn't there when Adam and Eve
were tricked by the serpent and sin was conceived.

I wasn't there when Abram believed,
and God said,
"By your Faith, I'll multiply thy seed."

I wasn't there when God parted the sea,
and led Moses and his people out of captivity.

I wasn't there when God chose us a king
to rule, to govern, every living thing.

No, I wasn't there, but I do know today,
that through the darkest trials,
God lights up the way.

So through all my afflictions,and through all
my despair,
I won't question God, because I wasn't there.

Now, God has a question to all who complain,
"Where were you, when MY Son was slain?"
