Disney has created a masterpiece with "The Lion King". In this coming-of-age story a young lion cub, Simba, has been born to King Mufasa & Queen Sarabi of the Pride Lands. His birth has made King Mufasa's jealous brother, Simba's uncle Scar, 2nd in line to the throne. What was supposed to be a happy childhood for Simba and his best friend, Nala, turns into a fight for his rightful place on the throne. Scar plots with the henchmen, the hyenas: Shenzi, Banzai, & Ed, to kill King Mufasa and Prince Simba, and then making himself King. The King Mufasa is killed and Simba is led to believe that his father's death was his fault. Simba flees his kingdom in shame. Scar becomes the ruthless King of Pride Rock. Simba's new friends, Timon & Pumbaa, teach him the ways of "Hakuna Matata". No worries. Simba grows into a strong, handsome lion away from the Pride Lands and after many years an old friend reenters his life and urges him to take his place as the rightful king. Simba must now go back to the Pride Lands and face his past.
