Yay!! so now everyone in the world can see murmurs videos! spreading the murmurs-love, angela Tuesday May 30, 2006 okay, okay, so it has been a year since i've updated this part of the site, but there hasn't been much new news, so i figure i'm justified. anyway, i've just added the titles of a few new songs to the bootlegs, and unreleased section of the discography (thanks to ruth!), so i just thought i'd point that out. lyrics for these songs will be added in the future (hopefully!). murrrr! xoxo angela Monday May 2, 2005 tired of living a murmur-free existence? you've come to the right place. my attempts to archive everything murmur-related are far from complete, but i encourage you to have a look around, and remember the good old days when the murmurs rocked your world. or perhaps the murmurs have yet to rock your world, and you are here to find out little bit more about this kick-ass poppy-folky duo who rocked the 90s right into the next millenium. to all you veterans and newbies i say welcome! please join me in rocking to the murmurs once again. Tuesday March 22, 2005 welcome to my murmurs site. one of the very few murmurs sites that are around anymore. all the other ones from back in the height of the murmurs' career have slowly slinked off into oblivion, but here lies one of the last bastions of murr-knowledge. since the tragic breakup of the slightly obscure girl-band "the murmurs" in 2001, there has been very little for fans to say. since that time, the murmurs, and their various off-shoots have slinked off into relative oblivion. for those of us left, those of us who still crave the good old days, back in the 90s when rocking to the murmurs was a full-time obsession, there has been little joy. i mean c'mon, there are only so many times that you can re-listen to the same old songs, before they get tired, and start to fray at the edges. so in this hiatus our love has also waned, and strayed. we have spent our time searching for new bands to fill the murmur-void. we look back fondly, detatchedly on what was once our "favourite band", and we start to forget what it once meant to be a murmurs fan. and we are convinced that the dark ages have returned... so i was missing the murmurs on one cold day in february, almost exactly four years after the break-up of the band, and that's how this site happened. i was missing the sound, the image, the girls (Leisha, and Heather), the other fan-girls (and -boys), but most of all i was missing the obsession. i used to be obsessed with the murmurs, and slowly that obsession has died. so i decided to go online and look at all the old fan-sites, and remember those good old days. and i was shocked by what i found: none of them are left anymore! this just seems so wrong to me. there are so many new generations of girls and boys who are missing out on the joy that is the murmurs' music. so here i am, preserving everything that i can remember from those times. maybe it is done in vain, maybe no one else cares anymore, and the demise of all the fan-sites is just a sign of the natural decline of the murmurs. maybe i should just let go, like everyone else seemingly has. but i'm not ready to do that, not yet anyway. so call me crazy, but i want to reclaim my teenage years, and be an obsessive fan of the murmurs again. and if there's anyone else out there who wants to join me, maybe we can start a revolution together... so i say: welcome to my murmurs site. one of the very last bastions of murr-knowledge in the world. won't you join me in remembering? murmur on! angela | |
