May 4, 2007 ADA few odds and ends actually.

1) I'm now in th process of producing a new Owl Watches album, to be called "
Guaranteed To Be 100% Free of Hit Singles", hoping to have it completed by the Fall of 2007. There will be more guest musicians on this one and a slight change of musical direction (don't worry, I'm NOT going commercial on ya!)

2)
I have very recently ventured back onstage with an improvisational band, going under the moniker of Strix Varia (the scientific name for a Barred Owl).  Consisting of myself on guitar and devices, my roommate Brian King also on various guitars and devices,  plus Phillip Hart (drums/percussion) and Jeff Tyson (bass), both of whom are on gracious loan from Atlanta prog band Z-Axis.  There are no "songs per se with this band but we start with  rhythms, moods, riffs, or whatever fragment crosses our path and explore it for all it's worth, more times than not, coming up with psychedelic, colorful soundscapes that might eventually mutate into songs, or precipitate an emergency session of Congress.

We did a gig at Space-Con 2007 in Atlanta  in late April '07 to test the water. Now, we will be playing at Atlanta's EYEDRUM performance/art space on May 18, 2007, click here for more details:
