Family History

set15j

Many hours of research and patient correspondence, as well as trips to Mount Saint Mary's College, St. Anthony's Shrine and the Cemetery, etc. have gone into these records. This is a journey back through time and history through our forfathers. It is forever a work in progress. There will be no ending.

Finding out who our ancestors were and what kind of people they were is a very interesting task. Our forebears tend to become more and more interesting as they retreat into the distant past. However, always remember that as much as we depreciate, respect or even laugh about our ancestors, we have a little something of every one of them in our souls.

The early settlers of Maryland and Pennsylvania were plain and very hard working people. Their untiring industry and perseverance, farming, plowing, planting, building, raising their families and, above all, getting by should be admired for their will and energy.

A special thanks to my family members who have contributed information and old photos and to Barbara Miles and Toni Wetzel of Mount Saint Mary's College Archives for all their help and to anyone else who has help with contributions towards this homepage.

There may be some errors and there will always be information to be added as time goes by. Any information and corrections are welcome.
