Ebony "Homo" dark / "hetro" or dilute ebony, charcoal/gray wrap (Click above to find out more) This color has been called a weakly dominate recessive gene. It is the strangest of all chin color genes because of this. The "best" ebonies are a deep black all over. Their fur is shiny, but as they get older, the shine diminishes. The distinction of this gene is the "wrap" affect negates the white belly of gray, beige and BV. It can also combine with gray to produce gray wrap/charcoal, Breed ebony to beige and get tan. Ebony and BV get you TOV ebony,. Ebony white cross* is also possible. The dark the black in the ebony strains the more dramatic the differences in the coat. Breeding with Ebony is quite difficult as the color can go through many stages to get the "true" dark Ebony. Breeding Ebony to other recessives like violet or shappire and wrap the color over the light belly and darken the shade of the coat. Other colors I would like to breed to ebony include ~ Violet ~ PW ~ Tan ~ BV ~ Hetro or Homo ebony?? Do they exist? Please join the discussion on Chin color! |
