Sapphire ~ Blue Sapphire This mutation is a lovely blue-gray coat with a white belly. Sapphire is the rarest and most expensive of the chin colors. Most specimens tend to be small, making breeding more difficult and they also carry some health problems including hemophilia. Breeding to a BV-sapphire carrier can produce TOV Sapphire. Also white can produce a mosaic sapphire or sapphire/white cross. Ebony will darken sapphire and cause color to wrap the body. Beige will dominate sapphire but the beige can carry the gene. When combining with Velvet, ebony or white, the same effects as the vio crosses. |
