Pass your mouse over pics for a tour! Colors and types of hamsters we raise |
to Hamster Page |
These are just a few of the colors and varieties I have been working with along with some of the specimens I have produced. I strive for temperament and health first, then other goals of coat and color. This are the boys Go here to see the girls |
Males |
Since males do not occur in tri color, I must use black (as above GRIZ, BlackBear Teddybear banded a.k.a panda bear), Or yellow (Sunny - yellow banded) or sometimes cream (Cream/yellow teddy bear banded) to breed with selected females to produce tri color offsprings. Only 25% of the female young may be calico/tortoiseshell. |
The banding gene (black band male - Bandit) or the domspot gene (blackbear dominate spot - CW) both make for some great variations on any coat color, but are very dramatic on black or when combined with yelllow and black. |
