Sadly, Alvin's first mate, Rita passed away when the boys, ChiChi, a tan and the ebony Morty, were just 4 1/2 weeks old. This was due to a vet that I did not know well. My chilla mentors, Sharon & Eric had obtained the pair the produced the ebony sisters, Rita and NoNaMe... PLUS two younger brothers. NaMe was the little black chin I had carried around for some time that first day, and they had had her for several months and she still had no name ..... hence NoNaMe (nooo-nah-mee) Both NoNaMe & Rita would be called heterozygous Ebony |
This is the clan I call "The First Family" and some of their offspring |

The First Family Alvin and his clan... |
Alvin was in the first pair of chins that I bought. I had studied chinchilla's for a long time and was ready to get my first. Though NoNaMe was the young chin I went to look at with the intention of buying, it was her older sister and Alvin that eventually came home with me. Chi Chi and his brother were born the next year. Alvin is a heterozygous beige (Tower Beige) |
This is Auggie >> He is son to NoNaMe & Alvin. He is also tan and was traded to Sharon & Eric for Ricoh See his offspring here |
ChiChi is one of the chins I am most proud of for a few reasons. He is from the first litter I ever breed, he is a exciting color but most importantly he has a great personality!! Nicks (Onyx) is from my second litter and has her roots in the "Second Dynasty". She & Chi are the parents of Pepe & Midget (below). Read more about this litter here. ChiChi is a Tan Nicks is a Black Velvet. |
Rikki is from my friend Sue. She also pairs with ChiChi and they have recently had there first... Harry, a beautiful mosaic. He and his mate, Bess, will be the first chins in my CandleBright line Rikki ia a mosaic, from a pinkwhite mother and a standard gray father. |
