Chin will be seen eating their own poop, but this is not really the case... they recycle certain digestive aids,and this is perfectly natural.  They supposedly know the difference between the actual turds and the reusable sacks of digestive aid.  Sometime you will see them pull out an actual poop and throw it down.  Chins will drop poop about any where, but can control the nutrient rich droppings, and will most often only pee in one or two spots.

Some chins will defend their space and drive away intruders by shooting a stream of urine, aimong for the face/eyes.  Females are probably worse about this, though either sex may attempt this.
However, properly socialized chins, those that have been handled since they were young (and not abused), will never do this

HAIR RINGS in males

Some people say not to buy male chins as pets due to the problems with hair rings and having to check them all the time.  I have never had a male (in almost 9 years) that had a problem.. that old ounce of prevention worth a pound of cure.  Don't let it worry you!
Male chins after the age of 6-8  months must be checked for hair rings that form to possibly strangle the penis.
Now, first off I must tell everyone that this is not a big issue.  You that might have fears or doubts need not worry. DO NOT decide on a female chin just because of this minor problem. I have had both sexes for years and never had any male get this condition.  While there are some males that have a chronic problem, these boys are quite rare.

About once a month, turn your boy on his back and inspect the penial cone.  You should be doing this from the first day so you know how the state of 'normal' looks like.  Two or three times a year if all other times have been normal, you will still need to do a further inspection.  This entails gently pulling back the sheath to ensure there in no hair in the crevice.  Sometimes there is a small amount of hair, but it only becomes a problem if it entertwines around to form a ring.
Loose and stray hair can form a complete ring around the penis that will close off circulation. If not taken care of the penis will cease to function and the chin will die.
You may see a boy chin cleaning this part of his body with his mouth, do not distress.  He will be clean as a whistle and no hair rings!  This is just as normal as poop eating, just look the other way and put it out of your mind.
