| Just to keep you updated on your baby... Paul and I put Skittles in the "big cage" with Havoc permanently last night for the first time (they'd been in their together for short spurts). They have been playing together nearly every day for the last 6 months and get along great. Skittles loves the move. Each level of her new cage has a different function--top level for food and drink, 2nd (right side slightly lower than top level) alfalfa/hay area, housing and a large hanging toy, third level toy area/wood chew area, and bottom level dust bath house and more toys. We moved her in there from a 1 1/2 level cage so she REALLY likes her new one. Havoc immediately began trying to mount her, although it might have been a dominance thing. Either way, Skittles is almost twice the size of Havoc and if she doesn't feel like standing still for it then she doesn't. Havoc keeps looking at us before he goes to her and its almost like he's Pepe Le'Puew saying "ma cherie, why do you run away? why do you hide this attraction?". It was quite comical last night. They are definitely not fighting at all...more like two squirrels playing chase. And when one took a dust bath the other went straight in there right after. Anyway, just wanted to update you. | Wed, 28 Jul 2004 13:25:03 -0500 Hello!! Just had to let you know that Mikey and Derek took Grand Champion of all the pets at the 4-H fair!!! there were 25 total pets that they were up against. Mikey even performed by doing his dust bath for the judge!! They were awesome and the judge saw it. Derek was very knowledgeable about his chinchilla and ran away with the show!! | 12-29-04 - Thanks a lot for your help, I bought a 5 month old male from Be*** on Xmas Eve. I am really happy with him he is very tame compared to my 1 year old that I purchased at a pet store. Happy Holidays, Jeff |
