Altar Pentacle |
Here is a way to make a nice looking altar pentacle. This is what you will need: Plaster of Paris Sand Water Pie Tin Stones - whether stones you find yourself, or store-bough tumbled river stones |
Plaster |
First, read what the directions on the plaster say. There is a certain amount of water that is mixed with the plaster so follow those direstions. Once you have mixed the plaster add a bit of sand, a cup should be good, although you may want to add more, depending on how rustic and old looking you want it too look. Adding sand will make it thicker, so you may hav eto ass a bit more water to it. The more sand you add, the darker it will turn out. Dont put too much though, or it wont all stay together. Try to get the surface of the plaster looking as smooth as you can. Then, before it dries take a knife and lightly draw the pentagram into the surface on the plaster. Take the stones and put them about a quarter of an inch away from each other into the shape of the pentagram. It may take awhile for it to look like you want, so if you need to you can remove the stones and do it again. But dont wait too long, the plaster dries pretty fast. Once you get it how you want it, let it dry for a few hours. Once its dry you can just slide it out of the tin. You can also sand paper the edges to make it smooth. And there you go! Now you have a nice pentacle to display on your altar! For more examples of Altar Pentacles check out the woodburning page. |
