Just take a pinecone and tie it some string to the top of it. Then spread some peanut butter all around it so it covers it good and gets into all the cracks. Now just roll it in some bird seed - there are all kinds out there, if you want to attract a certain kind of bird, buy some seed that they like. Hang them in trees (not too low to the ground) and watch them run (or should I say fly) as fast as their little wings can carry them! Birds love peanut butter. Squirrels like these too
I feed the birds all the time (once you start feeding the birds, you always have to because they depend on you for a food source) but I make lots of these treats at Yule. Gift gving is a theme for that time in the season so I give my little feathered friends a nice treat! I always bless them as well so that the birds have a safe and secure winter and a plentiful spring and summer.
Something I thought of last year is to charge the pinecones with a specific intent and let the birds carry off the message into the universe to manifest. Just make the treats and before hanging them out, charge them. |
