Painted Rocks |
Items needed: 1. Rocks (flat ones can be found at beaches or creeks) 2. Various colors of acrylic paint 3. Paint brushes 4. Pencil 5. Cup of water |
First you need to decide what you want to paint. You can find images on the internet, in magazines or even in any pagan/wiccan book. Then draw it out on the stone (make sure the stone is clean and not muddy). You will have to draw dark if the stone is dark. Then start painting. The nice thing about acrylics is that you can wipe off an area is you messed up, as long as the paint hasn't started to dry. The only thing is that its a pain when you want to paint over an area that you already painted, and that area isn't dry yet. So, to make it dry faster, try drying it with a hair dryer. When your all done painting it, brush on some polyurathaine to protect the surface if its going outside. This will also give it a shiny or wet look (the goddess stone above has polyurathaine over it). Some ideas: 1. Stones for the elements (like above picture) 2. Stones for the seasons and Sabbats 3. Different stones for the God and Goddess 4. Stepping stones for the garden 5. Rune stones (find or buy small stones and paint runes on them) |
