AUSTRALIA'S LARGEST MODEL RAILWAY DISPLAY AND MUSEUM

Welcome to the Gold Coast's latest family attraction. The Train Place is an Icon Queensland tourist attraction operating for twenty years at Wolfdene, near Beenleigh, Brisbane. The entire display has been relocated, revamped and expanded into it's new home at "The Mark Centre" Orchid Ave., Surfers' Paradise.

Our unique display covers over 500 square meters in area and comprises the largest "O" scale exhibition layout in the world, as well as "N", "HO" and "G" scale layouts and a collection of railway memorabilia and rare collectables on display. We cater to all ages and groups are especially welcome. Disabled access to all areas of the display is no problem, with overhead viewing and clear access around the display at ground level.

Over 10,000 man hours went into its making. Steam and diesel locomotives transport passengers and freight cars past farmlands, saw mills and mines. Rugged mountains rise 2 metres and combine with timber trestle bridges and tunnels. Hand made, true to scale buildings and bridges feature, as well as static displays of model trains in other gauges, railway memorabilia. New additions include: - 'G' Gauge M/R 1/24th Scale - 'HO' Gauge M/R 1/87th Scale - 'N' Gauge M/R 1/120th Scale The display covers more than 450 square metres. A hobby shop where gifts may be purchased is located on the premises. Picnic grounds are available for visitors and the Train Place is an educational and enjoyable place to visit.
