Directions: On US-17 34 miles North of Wilmington, NC exit US-17 onto NC-172 and enter the base.  
The second caution light after entering the base (Green sign foir Onslow Beach Rec. Area) turn 
right and follow the road to the FamCamp.  After crossing a small bridge you will see the camp

Input from members:
Onslow Fam Camp now has completely new H20, electric (30/50 amp) and 
sewer.  There is also a brand new central bath house with washer/dryers. 
All is very nice.  With the improvements came an increase in price to 
$10/day (use to be $7).  Still well worth the money.

The camp is in great shape and reservations are accepted 30 days in 
advance with CC. There are a total of 26 dedicated RV sites, with an 
additional (approximately) 12 sites that are tent/RV and could handle 
about a 25 footer (some larger/smaller depending on the site).  ALL SITES 
now have full hookups.  Max stay is seven consecutive days in one spot.  
You can stay longer but will most likey have to move to a different 
site every 7 days.  I've known folks to stay over a month moving spots 
each week.

Area 2 was completely destroyed by last years hurricanes and is not 
scheduled to be reopened.

 I live in Cary NC a member of Tri States Rebels and NC Tar Heels.  
Smith Lake at Ft Bragg is where the Fam Camp is Located for Ft Bragg. 
At best I would rate it a 3 (of 10).  Have the camp ground has the amenities 
on the curb side.  It is like someone followed the negative of a blue print.

We are hooked up to a phone line now at Smith Lake Fam Camp 
at Fort Bragg, NC. Please add this to your list of campground with phone 
lines at every site, (13 sites). They just put them in last month. It cost 
about $30.00 for installation, then $16.00 per month.
