The Trumpetfish inhabits coral reefs. It is adept at changing color, and positions its body to blend with the background. You will often see them stationary, hanging in a vertical position, with its head down. This camouflages them, making them appear to be sea rods. Sometimes they will "shadow hunt" by hovering just above other fish.
