This animal kingdom of almost 20 000km^2 is about the same size as the country of Israel and is one of the biggest game reserves in the world.
 African Buffalo
From hutted camps, cottages or caravans and tents visitors can travel the many routes through the park to view the wealth of wild life in their natural African habitat. Most visitors hope to see the Big 5 of the African animal kingdom, but there are also many other animals, birds and plants to view. Let's not forget the stunning views over the endless plains and hills of bushveld plants and trees. The best time of day to view the animals is very early in the morning - around sunrise - when the fresh morning air invites the animals out for an early morning stroll or down to a nearby waterhole. Young Cheetah cubs During the mid-day sun most animals lazily hides in the shade of trees and you will see less game during this time of day. Visitors can also go on special guided hiking trails with qualified game rangers. However, BEWARE - Don't get out of the car or try to go on your own hiking trails, since this is very dangerous without an experienced game ranger who knows how to handle the different animals. Apart from the Kruger National Park itself there are many other smaller private game reserves throughout the whole Eastern- and Northern Transvaal. These game reserves provide various activities; self drive or guided tours and excellent service. At the end of a long day in the African bush you can sit around a cozy campfire and tell stories of the day's experiences. Or listen to the game rangers' tales of African adventure while enjoying the pulsating rhythms of traditional African tribal dance.
