And was brought up in the family home above his Father Charlie Williams Hairdressers shop. Family: Mother, Louie, Father Charlie and Sister Pat. Career: At the age of 14 following his fathers wishes Kenneth was sent to learn the trade of Lithography at Bolt Court off Fleet Street London. Kenneth went into the Army in 1944 during the war and was there until his release in 1948. During his time in the Army he would engage in the entertainment side of it all and make friends such as Stanley Baxter by joining the combined Services Entertainments. But his real passion lay with his desire for a Career on stage. Which he pursued. By starting off working for Newquay Repertory, and then with a following of other plays he did through out his Career such As ‘Share My Lettuce’. Kenneth Williams became a recognised household name especially for his talent to make people laugh. But his wish was to be known as a serious actor and not a comedian, but he couldn't resist using his talent entertaining people which he did so well. And he is best remebered for his comedy skills by one of the most recognised and Loyal part of his Career the ‘Carry On’ Films. His acceptance of his First Role in the Carry On’s as James Bailey in ‘Carry On Sergeant’ 1958 was the first of a whole stream of Carry On films to be made. Not knowing that over the next 20 years he would make another 25 of them often out of loyalty. He was also a star in Radio in shows such As Hancock's Half Hour, Round The Horne, Just a Minute and Beyond our Ken. He hosted his own Shows - ‘The Kenneth Williams Show’ and ‘Stop Messin’ About.’ And was a regular loved guest on Chat shows such as Wogan And Parkinson.
