ASIAN AROWANA

Asian arowanas are the most expensive in the Arowana family. They come from Malaysia and Indonesia. Asian arowana includes the Malayan bonytongue, Red arowana, Golden arowana and Green arowana. Green arowanas are the cheapest CITES protected Asian arowana. Although, it is the cheapest, it still costs far more than any other type of arowana. (Regardless of the Asian arowana) A single 6 - 7 inch green arowana could cost around $200(U.S.) and Php3,000-4,000 in the Philippines.

SOUTH AMERICAN AROWANA

There are mainly two types of South American Arowanas namely, the Silver arowana and the Black arowana. Although there were some South American specie different from these two, the Snow arowana. The snow arowana is considered to be rare.

Australian Arowana

Asutralian arowanas are the closest relatives of the Asian arowanas. There are two types of Australian arowanas. One of the types is the Pearl arowana (Also known as the Australian gold. Pearl arowanas are quite similar to the Golden arowana . Although, there are some distinct features that separates the two species. The australian arowanas are the next most expensive arowana after the Asian arowanas. Australian arowana (6-7inches) costs about $50-60.

The African Arowana

African arowanas are very much different from the other arowana species. The african arowana is considered to be the lowest and ugliest grade of arowana. African arowanas are common.
