The twin-engined, Bell 212 helicopter was developed from the single-engined Bell 205. Thanks to the second engine, the 212 is capable of flying in high temperatures and high altitude areas. The primary fame of these helicopters comes from the merit of their brave rescue missions which they performed during the Peace Of Galilee Operation and the rescue of citizens who were stuck in floods and on cliffs. Mainly, the means of rescuing is with the use of a rescue crane which is fixed at the opening of the body. For the need of evacuating injured people, the helicopter can carry six stretchers, a doctor and a medic.
