7th Saga
map/mini walkthrough

1:  Lemele - You start out when "Lemele" sends the 7 of you out after your training with him to gather the 7 runes together.  Of course he doesn't tell you they were dispersed for a REASON.

2:  Rablesk - Not much to say about this town except it's the first one you come across and after Romus beats you, you can get a whistle to go back and 'end his misery' or something.  But hey, that moment when you just found a new town is the whole point of RPGs, am I right?

3:  Bonro - After you get past Pison (the first time) all 6 of the others are either in Zellis or here.  Wait until you're strong enough to go a bit of a way in the game before you choose to take who YOU DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO BEAT PERMANENTLY IN PATROF LATER into the Melenam cave.

4:  Zellis - See #3

5:  Melenam - (somewhere around here) The underground complex must have been built pretty solid if it's still intact 5000 years after sinking with a continent.  You have to take that archaeologist guy from the Zellis inn before you can open the door to get here. (be sure to grab the wind rune in the cave on the way in case you haven't played this thing before)  By the way, would anyone besides me like to go through here and use parts from the nonfunctional tetujins to fix up the rest of them?

6:  Eygus - A small, rural island village with the descendants of the Melenamites (is that spelled right? ...nevermind.)  Sorry, they can't help fix up those Tetujin, 5000 years is a long time to lose records.

7:  Pell - The "town of water" or something.  This is where the digger Quose lives.  He's in the bar.  Take him to Guntz.

8:  Guntz - After Quose digs them a spring, (that guy really knows where to dig, huh?) the mayor (or whatever) gives you the water rune. (it apparently didn't do what he thought it did)  Oh yeah, you have to keep talking to the mayor at first before you can go get Quose.

9:  Patrof - Here's where one of the apprentices (might even be Valsu, but not Esuna or Lux as far as I can tell) Has holed up with the star rune.  That spider cave under the tombstone is NASTY.  Most of you know, but if you agree to join him at first, you can go through the gate and won't have to fight all those spiders again to get to him.  Grime tower is somewhere around here.

10:  Bone - Here's where things start to diverge.  There's a kid here who, depending on who you are, either thinks he's in Bonro or found a remote control.  The remote is to a hidden door in the nearby cave (that eventually leads to Dowaine via a 'dinosaur' submarine) and his uncle or something in Bonro has a ship to take you to Pandam.

11:  Pandam - You may have to get some equipment here, it's a long, rough trip to get to the rest of this continent. (unless you're cheating... ...heh)

12:  Dowaine - Apparently this is where Wilme landed.  This is where that kid who sells random items for 100G lives.

13:  Pang - Olvan's hometown.  What's with that guy who says not to go in his house unless he says so?  Doesn't he know he's in a role playing game?

14:  Belaine - For all this weapon shop competition, prices should be lower after you prevent the war.  They're upset that Telaine raised the price of ore.

15:  Telaine - There's an ore shortage, what do they want from us??  Bring any of the "crystals of peace" from Luze, which are iron ore, and it prevents a war, you get some money, and prices supposedly lower in Belaine.  They look suspiciosly like S. Brain droppings to me, but don't tell them.

Hidden Cave 16:  Padal - Once you bring back the kids from serpent, (way over N of Tiffana) you might find the commander either in Polasu or Telaine.  And he might still have the moon rune or it might have been stolen.  In which case you have to bail some guy out of Belaine's dungeon.

Somewhere W of here is that hidden cave you may have heard about.  This picture shows Esuna facing toward it, as if that helps.

17:  Luze - Not a town, but you can warp here with winballs or the wind rune.  Useful for using S. Brains for experience. (DO NOT go after the last rune until you use this island to raise your level as high as you'll want it for the rest of the game -- I'd say about 60.  This is the ONLY place with stuff that gives anywhere near this much experience and is this easy to get to)  This dragon is where I found those barrier techniques most useful.  Does anyone know if it's actually possible to get here ahead of everyone else?  I don't believe it.

18:  Brush - I seem to remember this place had some nice equipment.  I think.  Anyway, after you get all 6 USABLE runes (No, the wiz rune doesn't do anything.  The same thing happens whether you have any runes at that point or not.  One could theorize based on Gariso and Gorsia that it's supposed to turn one invisible...  Also, I think the wind rune should work like B agility when used in battle, but it doesn't) Anyway after you get all 6 usable runes, you HAVE to go to that fortune teller thingy and then you can test the mecha-glider to get to the frozen continent.

19:  Tiffana - The princess is one of the kids serpent kidnapped.  Now this kind of thing really isn't that funny.  I realize she doesn't look human, but I personally know of people who have become seriously disturbed due to not being able to have kids.  Now, there are a LOT of problems in society, but one that seems to be somewhat better now is raising girls to believe their purpose is to get married and have kids.  ...but you don't want to hear about that right now.

20:  Polasu - This is where the commander from Padal lives.  I seem to remember they sell some relatively rare items here.  Oh yeah, the tower that teleports to Grime is somewhere around on the right.  There are some items in them, but don't bother.

21:  Bilthem - Dig them fire walls.  Kind of reminds you of Zelda 64, huh?  Anyway, this guy Doros got the light rune, locked his dad up, and started a reign of terror...or some stuff.  You have to get someting from pop before you can beat him. (the key's under the table by the guard)  Don't try this one until you're pretty strong.

22:  Valenca - Any landing you can walk away from . . . nah.  After you leave, everyone probably huddled around the flaming wreckage for awhile.  It's too cold here.

23:  Bugask - I just lost my techniques and I have a headache, go away.

24:  Guanta - If you switch companions before going on this guy's moonlight quest, your new companion can use techniques.  Don't worry about the other one, they get their powers back anyway.

So you thought you would become all-powerful, eh?
Well a lot you know!  Now that I have my power back from the runes, you can just GO TO HELL!!!
Wa ha ha ha HA HAHA HAHAHAHAH HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

. . . . . or maybe I'll send you back in time so you can stop me . . . . .

. . . .Yeah, that sounds good.

-After you wake up, for some reason you're in the general vicinity of where Bone(10) would later be.  The village is named Pharano, the map doesn't show you where you are, your (Gorsia's) runes are gone, and winballs don't work.  Also it's a loooong way to the next town.  Gonna be a fun summer.

-The next town, Pasanda, seems to be just after that last lone mountain range just past (9).  As tempted as you are, DON'T get any equipment.  There's better stuff later and it's EXPENSIVE.

-In Ligena, about where (7) is, the elders tell you that, yes you've come back 5000 years.  How they know that . . .  Oh, well.  Anyway, after you talk to the elder, you can go around to Ropesu's house and either sneak onto the airship behind one of the bookcases in his house, (It's not always the same one) or if you're the right person, he'll let you on.  ...That airship is some kind of ugly.

-Then you get to Melenam.  This is where you MIGHT start getting equipment, some of the best stuff is here and some is in Palsu, but you don't know which stuff, so I'd save my money till after the continent sinks.  After you give Tafuro (in the underground complex) the letter from mom in Palsu, he shows you the project and you talk to Dr Fail, head back up and wait.  It doesn't matter if you go outside town or not.  Eventually, when you go through any door, a GOD awful siren will start.  I'm sure you can figure out what to do then...

-Palsu is the other town on the Melenam continent, the equipment here seems to be the best for Valsu/Esuna/etc. but ALL the best stuff (except apparently for Lejes' mask) is available after the continent sinks, so I'd wait.

-You say your continent sunk and a single airship is housing the entire population of a small town, a large town, and an underground complex, and landed right about at (23)?  Is that what's troubling you?

...Well LIFT YOUR HEAD UP HIGH, STARE ADVERSITY IN THE FACE AND SAY LOUD FOR ALL TO HEAR: "THIS PLACE IS COLD!!!!!  AND I'M NOT GONNA TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!!!!!!"

. . . . but first, buy the best stuff the combined shops of Melenam and Palsu sell.  Also, now that I think about it, maybe that's just supposed to represent where ALL the airships landed.

-Saro's followers' town -- at about (24):  Go through the cave to the W, talk to Saro, get the runes from his followers (they don't work, you haven't sealed Gorsia's power in them yet) then head back to the same place the wiz rune was (will be)  It doesn't seem to matter what order you use the runes in as long as the first two are wiz and then light. However, I would use moon and wind ASAP.

Now sit back, watch the ending, and come to terms with the apparent fact that the real Lemele (who you never met) was really Esuna (or whoever...)
