Chicago is indisputably the best band in the world. They have been my favorite band for the last six years. I began listening to them when I was just a junior in high school. My friends took awhile to warm up to the fact that my favorite band was from such a different era. Eventually, with repeated exposure the music of Chicago grew on them, and now they actually enjoy it.
What I first started listening to was the Greatest Hits '82-'89 album, but I quickly realized there was so much more to the band. In my opinion Chicago's earlier albums were equally as good if not better. Chicago is and was a very talented band, but the most talented of the group was Chicago's bassist and one of their lead singers, Peter Cetera. Peter Cetera has the most amazing voice of any vocalist I have ever heard. His voice soars and leaves any listener feeling good. I was just five years old(1985) when Peter left Chicago to explore a solo career, so unfortunately for me I will never get to see the real band that I love play. Jason Scheff does a very good job, but he's no Peter as my friend Ashley would say.
