These figures were made by the Beton company, which was the first incarnation of what would be known as the Bergen Toy & Novelty Co. The green oval bases date them to before 1941. As the company only began the use of plastic in 1938, this version of these figures was only produced for three years. In addition, about half of the ones that I have are marked "Beton Carlstadt, New Jersey". These marked bases are thinner and tend to warp.
