American Metal Toys began in 1937 with toy soldiers, with animals being added around 1941(?). The primary material used was a Lead-Zinc alloy. The company went out of business in 1942. American Metal numbered their figures, and many have the number molded onto the figure. When this occurs I have listed the number after the name.
