Archer Plastics had the best Spaceman figures available in the 1950's. They also did Western and soldiers, but not as creatively. Other than being a firm of the 1950's, I know little else about them. Their figures seem to have been mostly made of hard plastic, with a few vinyl ones being produced as well.
