Match Report Procedures

Once again, to be abosolutely clear,--and I can guarantee some of you will still screw this up.

If you choose to send a match report via email you may ONLY use the attached WORD document format.  If you can't use that send your report via fax or email.

When you send a match report via email, in the correct format, it goes to Sue Fahy at

tisoasue@aol.com

When you send a match report via email, name your attached word document with the School name, followed by (M) or (W) , followed by the date (9-4-03) followed by matchreport.  In other words for a game at Duke with the women you would name your match report Duke(W)(9-4-03)matchreport.

Mileage and Drivers.

IT IS THE REFEREE'S RESPONSIBILITY TO NOTE ALL OF THE OFFICIALS WHO DROVE ON THE MATCH REPORT,  NOT JUST THE REFEREE'S.

We are trying something new. Rather than designating drivers, I am leaving crew travel arrangements up to the referee, as indicated in our earlier protocol document. The referee should direct the crew travel arrangements based on the following practices.

TISOA always tries to minimize the travel cost to schools so wherever possible officials should carpool for some or all of the distance.

Unless not practical, the referee should not be the driver.

The Referee MUST indicate all official’s mileage on the match report to insure that travel is paid appropriately to all officials.

If referees coming from the same city are not riding together there must be a reasonable justification provided or no travel will be allotted.

If an official is unable to carpool with others due to that official’s personal agenda, for whatever reason, then normally travel will not be allotted to that official without a really good reason.

If you are an AR who has driven and you aren’t certain your referee recorded your mileage properly, feel free to send André the mileage one way with adequate documentation as to which game you are refereeing. I.e. do not say Joe Smith drove from Raleigh to Charlotte and nothing else .

To insure accuracy, referees should copy emailed match reports to their ARs when sending them to André.

If officials have to drive part way by themselves in order to meet up with other members of the crew, the match report should indicate that official’s partial mileage.

Mileage should be listed only for the distance 1-way.  We assume you drive in both directions and automatically double the mileage.  Giving us round trip numbers just makes for additional headaches.
