Before His ascension to heaven our Lord
Jesus Christ “through
the Holy Spirit had given commandments to the apostles whom He had chosen, to
whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs,
being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to
the Kingdom of God. And being assembled
together with them He commanded them not
to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, which, He
said, 'you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit
not many days from now." (Acts
1:2-5)
“When the Day of Pentecost had fully come,
they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing
mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then
there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of
them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak
with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” (Acts 2:1-4)
“And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will
be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who
believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new
tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it
will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."
(Mk. 16:15-18)
“Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be
baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall
receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to
your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will
call." (Acts 2:38-39)
“Or do you not know that as many of us as
were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him
through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the
glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For
if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also
shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old
man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that
we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed
from sin.” (
“Then He came to Simon Peter. And Peter
said to Him, "Lord, are You washing my
feet?" Jesus
answered and said to him, "What I am doing you do not understand now, but
you will know after this." Peter said to Him, "You shall never
wash my feet!" Jesus answered him, "If I do not wash you, you have no
part with Me." Simon
Peter said to Him, "Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my
head!" Jesus said to him, "He who is bathed needs only
to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean, but not all of
you." For He knew who would betray Him; therefore He said, "You
are not all clean." So when He had washed their feet, taken His
garments, and sat down again, He said to them, "Do you know what I have
done to you? You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you say well, for so I am.
If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought
to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that you
should do as I have done to you. Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant
is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent
him. If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.” (Jn.
13:6-17)

God richly bless you
