TWO-MIX Biography
TWO-MIX is a JPOP group with meaningful songs filled with emotion. The name TWO-MIX also has a meaning: to signify that there songs are filled with inspiration and ideas from both members. Most people note it as "Two-Mix", but correctly, it's supposed to be "TWO-MIX". In the early 1990's, the two members in this group meeted, Minami Takayama and Shiina Nagano. Minami (girl) had just quit a recent band called "RE-X", where she gained her skills in music, and was looking for someone who could show her how to use a synthesizer(those big machines for techno and arrangement). Don’t worry, these two have no relation ship, they haven’t even called each other by first name yet.
In 1992, Shiina and Minami(not TWO-MIX yet) released their first album, "Endless Communication", with Shiina on lyrics, and Minami on vocal and arrangements. Shiina the songs to the album and Minami sang them. The began to like the idea of working together and joined with another member as guitarist and formed a live performing band called "ES-Connection". In 1994, they released just one album called "Rythmix" and then broke up really soon after.
In 1995, the duo, Shiina and Minami, started making music for a new anime series called "Shinkidousenki Gundamwing", a.k.a. "Mobile Suit GundamWing" in English. That is when they officially arose as the name "TWO-MIX", creating the anime's main theme song, "Just Communication", and giving them mass popularity and appearing as #23 on music sales charts. In August, they published their first album, BPM 132, and is placed as #16. They aquired great popularity with their second single,"Rhythm Emotion" giving the sing a hit #8 on the charts! This song was also used in the Gundam Wing Series.
In 1996, January, they released their second album, BPM 143, and recieved placement as #5 on the charts! In march, they created a single called" T.R.Y. Return to Yourself" landing in #15 and the album, "TWO-REMIX", landing in #17. In October, they released two singles, Love Revolution and Rhythm Generation, both able to reach #9 on the charts. The next month, in November, they release and even more succesful album! It was called "BPM MAX" and hit #2 on the charts!! The band is always landing in the top ten of the music saled charts.
In 1997, January, they release another successful single, "White Reflection", landing in #6. In march, they published the album BPM- Best Files alos landing in #6. Next album was BPM dances, put in #11, and single "True Navigation" that hits #7. The next single they created was "Summer Planet NO.1". Next single, "Living Daylights" hit #8, then fell down to a #16. December leaves the album, "Fantastix" falling in #11.
In 1998, January, They released a single called "Time Distortion", leaving in a low #19. Next album would be "Fantastic 2" and next single would be "Beat of Destination. In September, a rather more successful album was released called "Dream Tactix" landing in #6, and then arrives the single "Last Printing" landing on an also great #8. The next greatly successful single "Truth- A great detective of love" lands in the anime, "Detective Conan", and hitting #3 on the charts. The final albums, "Baroque Best" with their new seal, "Warner" and an album called "Super Best Files 1995-1998" with their previous seal, "King Record", closes with an excellent year.
In 1999, TWO-MIX takes a little rest just releasing the singles "Body Makes Stream"," Maximum Wave", and "Side Formula" landing in #17, #20, and #14.The also released an album, "Rhythm Formula", which landed on #18.
In 2000, TWO-MIX's little duo called "MinaMiru" produced a single together called "Naked Dance" leading to the year 2001 where they produced the album called "20010101" under the seal of King Record.
Two-Mix has also supplied music for other anime series such as Detective Conan, Lupin III, Rank Oukoku, and Jibaku-kun to name a few. Recently, TWO-MIX created an artist management called "Little Station"; Shiina being the president. One of the music artists that they manage is known as Miru Takayama, Minami's cousin.
Miru and Minami have done great work together either going by the one-unit name of M-TWO, or MinaMiru.
Still improving, and still succeeding, TWO-MIX is bound to get even better.

Minami Takayama, a.k.a. Takayama Minami, is the female in TWO-MIX. "Minami" is only a stage name that she uses. Her real name is Izumi Arai. Aside from singing songs, she also has a talent for voice acting. Her voices range from anger and evil, to a cute and loveable voice. She used to be in a band called “Re-X” but quit. She was looking for someone to teach her how to use a synthesizer and found Shiina. For Two-Mix, she fills each song with feeling and emotion.
