In Loving Memory of

Joy Been Wiggins

who received her wings on

January 12, 2001

Oh how can I explain the emotions,
Of the loss that we now bear,
For a treasured member of our family
has climbed that rainbow stair.

She shared with us thoughts and stories
of her life's joy and pain.
She made us smile, and laugh, as she sang life's sweet refrain.

Dear Joy, you are the dearest member of our Tennessee Memory list.
No longer in pain and sickness shall you So simply exist.

We wonder if you sit there, beneath some celestial tree,
and chat with your own ancestors about your genealogy.

Our sadness will be lifted and our tears will stop their flowing,
For your presence lives within our hearts,
a sweet memory aglowing.

Rest in peace dear cousin and friend.

God saw that she was getting tired,
And a cure was not to be.
So He put his arms around her,
And whispered, "Come with me."
With tearful eyes, we watched her suffer
And saw her fade away.
 Although we couldn't bear to lose her,
We could not bid her stay.
A golden heart stopped beating;
Hard working hands laid to rest.
 God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.

TOGETHERNESS

Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away into the next room;
Whatever we were to each other, we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the same easy way you always have.
Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, Smile, Think of me, Pray for me.

Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it always was.
There is an absolute unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of your mind, because I am
Out of your sight??
I am but waiting for you for an interval,
Somewhere very near,
Just around the corner.
All is well, Nothing is past.
Nothing has been lost, One brief moment,
And all will be as it was before.
Only better, infinitely happier;
We will be one, together forever.
