Romanian Trainer Rifle, M69
As with most militaries, the Romanians used .22 caliber rifles for initial training of their troops in marksmanship and firearms handling.  The M69 was such a rifle.  It is a .22LR bolt-action rifle with a 5-round detachable magazine.  Compared to my other "real" firearms, this one is incredibly light and easy to handle.  The rear sights are the flip-up style.  It has three flip-up leafs, for 25 meters, 50 meters, and 100 meters.

Originally produced in 1969, it lasted for many years as a trainer rifle.  Production went into the early 1980s.  Most sources I've seen say that production ended in the late 1970s, but I have seen these at gunshows dated as late as 1981.  I've also heard of people having models dated as late as 1985.

This particular rifle is dated 1978 and is in very nice condition.  It is not a C&R rifle, but as far as I'm concerned, it is a collector's item and will one day rise in value.
One of the reasons I chose this rifle out of the others the seller had, was the condition and color of the stock.  The stock is beech, and has a nice color pattern to it.  Here's a picture of it, near the receiver.  This pattern is fairly typical of beech, although it seems more pronounced on this rifle.
