Over Warwick Todd's career, there have been many great moments. Way too many to mention here. But Toddy recalls a few that spring to mind here. "I'll never forget our World Cup semi-final win over the Windies in 1996. Celebrations in our dressing room were in full swing, I was downing rums and Coke at a furious rate when someone grabbed me and asked if I'd do an interview for the press... I may have been a little tired and emotional during that interview but from what those back home told me, I think I got away with it". A proud moment for Toddy |

Toddy has also had some great moments away from the cricketing
arena. We all know he likes a drink, but one of his finest efforts
is a record amongst his peers. However, it came at an expense, as
explained by Todd below:
"Back in '94 when AB was looking set to retire as skipper there were a few obvious contenders for his replacement... A year or two later I found out why I was overlooked. Apparently the powers that be weren't too happy with a small incident back in 1992 when I drank 48 cans of Foster's during a team flight. Now I know what you're thinking - other players like Boonie and Rod Marsh have done far worse - but, as it was explained to me, their record breaking stints were on board Sydney to London flights. My cans were consumed between Sydney and Melbourne. Still, it's a fine line". |

Another special time for Toddy was participating in the Commonwealth Games in 1998, the first time cricket was involved. "About 100,000 spectators packed the stadium to witness the Opening
Ceremony but, to be perfectly frank, it was a bit of a bore...

"I somehow found myself entering with the women's swimming team. Not that I think anyone noticed". |

"There was no thought about this match not being taken seriously". |
"Our first game today, a preliminary match against Canada. Naturally most experts were predicting it should be a walkover but Tugga was taking nothing for granted... "Flem had the honour of bowling the first ball in Commonwealth Games history, followed by the first lbw appeal which was unfortunately turned down. I naturally muttered a few sentiments in the direction of the umpire on the accuracy of his decision to become the first person in Commonwealth Games cricket history reported to a match referee". |
